Days 1-4: Explore Mana Pools National Park and take in the breathtaking vistas of the Zambezi River | 3 Nights

MANA POOLS, ZIMBABWE A 90-minute flight from Harare's Robert Gabriel Mugabe Airport to the Mana Pools airstrip puts you in the heart of Mana Pools National Park. Nyamatusi Camp, the first destination on your African safari, is only a 30-minute drive away. Nyamatusi is a seasonal camp (open from April to November) located beside the flowing Zambezi River, which nourishes the verdant surrounds. It offers front-row seats to one of Africa's few surviving pristine frontiers. Lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffalo, hyenas, and wildebeest are just a few of the animal species that may be seen roaming the complex environment of Mana Pools. During the camps off season, animals are not exposed to humans for up to six months of the year. The unrestrained animal natures that result create bizarre, primal experiences. Sign up for guided hikes, canoe safaris, and game drives to get a peek of the big wildlife. Fishing and birdwatching are two activities that may be enjoyed with gentler animals. The elephant tracking that occurs throughout the park is an unforgettable experience. On day 4, return to Mana Pools' main airstrip for the fly to Manga Airstrip, your next destination.

Days 4–7: Watch elephants from the comfort of your tent in Hwange National Park | 3 Nights

HWANGE NATIONAL PARK, ZIMBABWE The award-winning, eco-friendly Somalisa Tented Camp, the second stop on your African safari, is a 30-minute drive from Manga Airstrip. Somalisa, named Zimbabwe's best tented safari camp in the 2019 World Travel Awards, is located beside a drinking hole frequented by wildlife roaming the plains. Keep an eye out for the elephants who come back. Take a seat on the deck, get a cool drink, and watch these gentle giants satisfy their thirst as the sun sets beyond the horizon. Hwange National Park's wonders may be explored through guided nature walks, night drives, game drives, horseback riding, birdwatching, and traditional village visits. With massive herds of buffalo and elephants, as well as lion, leopard, and cheetah sightings, you're guaranteed to get up close and personal with the big game. On day seven, say goodbye to Zimbabwe and go to its equally stunning neighbour, Zambia. The final leg of your African safari journey begins with a 45-minute flight from Manga Airstrip to Victoria Falls Airport.

Days 7–10: Walk with white rhinos in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park | 3 Nights

ZAMBIA Zambia, welcome! Thorntree River Lodge is a 50-minute drive from Victoria Falls Airport and is one of the country's most luxurious and modern hotels. There's no better spot to end your once-in-a-lifetime journey than with quiet, gorgeous views of the Zambezi River and less than 30-minutes from crowd-favorite Victoria Falls. During your visit to the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, you may partake in a variety of African safari activities. Spend your days on game drives, guided nature walks, kayaking or fishing on the river, tracking white rhinos on foot, or learning about local customs when you visit neighbouring Simonga Village. After an action-packed day, unwind with sundowners aboard Thorntree's own boat as the sun sets over the river. Return to camp and tell your tales over the fire in the sunken boma (outside sitting enclosure) or on the floating deck overlooking the river. And you can be certain that your children are safe and secure while learning about nature at the Ngwana Club. You can't visit Mosi-oa-Tunya (meaning 'The Smoke That Thunders') without seeing Victoria Falls, the park's namesake. Some of the activities available include guided jungle treks, bungee jumping from the Victoria Falls Bridge, and helicopter flips over the falls. On Day 10, you will depart Thorntree with a 20-minute transport to Livingstone's Harry Mwanga Nkumbula Airport. You may be leaving Africa physically, but the memories and experiences you'll have on safari will keep it alive in your heart.
