Uganda’s Adventure Fly-In Gorilla Trek
Overview
This bucket-list adventure takes you deep into the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for an encounter with critically endangered mountain gorillas. You will fly to the Kihihi airstrip in the edges of Bwindi National Park after landing at Entebbe International Airport. The park, which is home to around 340 mountain gorillas, is one of the two remaining protected areas where this subspecies of great ape may be found in the wild. Some of the family groupings are used to human presence and will allow trekkers to trail and observe them as they go about their daily lives from a respectful and regulated distance. When you return to the calm Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp, keep a watch out for gorillas roaming directly through the camp!
This 5-day jungle adventure includes tented accomodation that is both luxury and authentic, as well as an encounter with the indigenous Batwa people. For those looking to prolong their vacation to East Africa, this fly-in gorilla safari pairs well with a visit to the Serengeti or Masai Mara to view the Big 5 or the Wildebeest Migration.
