Day 1–3: Welcome to Kenya! Head to the Wild North First | 3 Nights

SAMBURU, KENYA Meet your driver in Nairobi for your road trip to Wilson Airport. Fly to Samburu Airstrip from here and travel to Sera Community Conservancy's Saruni Rhino, your first destination on this 10-day safari. Saruni Rhino, set among swaying palm trees on the banks of a dry riverbed and surrounded by 340,000 hectares of semi-arid wildness, may transport you to a desert oasis on your journey over the African plains. This one-of-a-kind resort promises really remarkable experiences. The land belongs to the community and has a long, rich history that is entwined with its people's culture. Aside from the typical exhilarating daily game drives, guests get the unique option to visit the Singing Wells, where local pastoralists call their cattle to drink by singing tunes exclusively known to their own herd. During the rhino tracking experience, guests may get up close and personal with the rhinos while being guided by highly skilled rangers. The Reteti Elephant Orphanage is also nearby. This is an excellent opportunity for people to learn about the conservation effort of rescuing orphaned elephants and eventually rehabilitating them for release back into the wild. When you're not out having fun, the lodge itself provides lots of opportunities for leisure. Saruni Rhino emanates the right blend of authenticity and elegance for a really fulfilling experience, whether you're having a refreshing bath in the pool, resting in your open-fronted Banda while a troop of elephants passes by, or enjoying a leisurely supper in the main lodge area.

Day 4-6: Discover Samburu's Secrets | 3 Nights

Nairobi, Kenya You're on your way to your next destination, Saruni Samburu, without missing a beat. Saruni Samburu is the sole lodge in the semi-arid tribal territories of the Kalama Conservancy, which adjoins Samburu National Reserve. It is elevated on a rocky outcrop with infinite views of the stunning and rugged northern Kenya plains. Samburu is famed for its abundance of animals, mainly elephants, but also for its unusual fauna, the Samburu Five. Grevy's zebra, gerenuk, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and reticulated giraffe are among the species suited to the area's more dry and hillier circumstances. Daily bush walks and wildlife drives allow you to explore the area and see these and other species. Led by properly trained Samburu warriors keen to share their love of the land and culture with visitors. Saruni may be as relaxing or exciting as you want it to be. In the heat of the day, unwind at the lodge with a restorative massage at the Wellness Space, absorb in the views, enjoy a drink of your choice, or take a cool plunge in the infinity pool while staring out over the Samburu plains below. Enjoy a picnic along the Ewaso Niro River, followed by a fire-lit bush supper with Samburu dancers. End the evening fireside, with a sky full of stars to stare at as you exchange tales and experiences from the day.

KENYA, MASAI MARA It's time to say goodbye to Samburu and head to the airfield for your travel to Mara North via Nairobi. The road transfer from the airfield to Saruni Mara begins your first game drive. Set in a conservancy next to Masai Mara National Reserve, this property offers the freedom of a private concession while still providing direct access to the national park. Saruni Mara is a great place to start if you want to visit Kenya's leading safari destination and flagship conservation area, Masai Mara. Famous for great year-round wildlife watching, large seasonal herds of wildebeest and zebra, Maasai hospitality, and not to be missed, hot air balloon safaris that drift peacefully over the plains below. Allow the calm and charm of the opulent but welcome lodge to surround you.
