Day 1-3: Your Journey Begins in Kigali Rwanda | 2 Nights

KIGALI, RWANDA After your international aircraft arrives in Kigali, you will be welcomed by a representative who will provide a comfortable transfer to the first destination on your schedule, Serena Hotel. After checking in, have a nice supper before retiring for the night to rest up for the adventure ahead. Serena Hotel is a luxurious and sophisticated hotel that symbolises both modern and traditional Rwanda. Traditional Rwandese art and culture harmoniously compliment modern facilities, comforts, and conveniences. As a famous destination in Kigali, this hotel is an excellent place to rest before embarking on the next phase of your tour - gorilla trekking. You will get the opportunity to explore the streets of this magnificent city while staying at Serena Hotel, seeing sites such as the Nyandungu Eco Park and the Nyambirambo Women Cooperative. Return to the hotel for some rest and relaxation by lazing poolside, sipping a drink at Sokoni Café & Bar or indulging in a massage or treatment at the health spa. On day three, you'll enjoy one last breakfast at the hotel before embarking on the Kigali City Tour, which includes a sombre visit to the Genocide Memorial, the last resting place of more than 250,000 victims of Rwanda's 1994 genocide. A relaxed lunch concludes your Kigali tour before being taken to Ruhengeri, the home of gorilla trekking. The three-hour trip is lovely, passing through the lush, terraced hillside that has become synonymous with Rwanda's environment. You'll eventually arrive at the base of the Virunga Volcanoes, where Virunga Lodge will be your home away from home for the rest of your vacation.

Day 3-5: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park | 3 Nights

VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK, RWANDA When you stay at Virunga Lodge, you will be treated to elegance, comfort, and breathtaking views of the Virunga Volcanoes and adjacent volcanic lakes. The resort is conveniently placed at the base of the Virunga Volcanoes, giving it a great starting point for gorilla trekking routes and roads. The fourth day of your schedule will undoubtedly be the highlight of your trip as you venture into Africa's untamed rainforests in quest of the elusive Mountain gorillas who live deep within the dense wilderness. Many people consider gorilla trekking to be a life-changing event; spending up to an hour viewing these gentle giants in their natural habitat is an experience that words cannot describe. To go on a gorilla trek, you must be reasonably active, in excellent health, and able to tolerate the humid, muddy conditions of a jungle walk. A trained guide and tracker will bring you along the forest's secret trails in search of a habituated gorilla family. After that, you'll be returned to the lodge, where you may enjoy delicious cuisine and luxury but comfortable accommodations. On day five, you'll have the choice of going on a jungle trip to see the endangered Golden Monkey. This excursion is more gentler and less strenuous than a gorilla hike, and it will provide you the rare opportunity to interact with these naughty animals. After lunch, you'll return to the lodge to freshen up before an optional afternoon excursion to the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, the world's largest and longest-running organisation dedicated to gorilla conservation.
