Overview

This convenient fly-in safari visits three of Botswana’s best game-viewing areas. Beginning in the Okavango Delta and the bustling Moremi Game Reserve, your journey continues on to one of Africa’s “Predator Capitals,” the famed Savute section of Chobe National Park.

Some of the things you’ll get to do during your time in the Okavango Delta’s permanent wetlands include canoeing, bird viewing, hiking, and fishing. Over the next several days, you’ll embark on safari in the Moremi Game Reserve, located near the Okavango Delta.

Day 1 – 4 : Explore the Okavango Delta | 3 Nights

Botswana's Okavango Delta After being picked up at the Maun Airport in Botswana, you'll take a private charter flight to the Okavango Delta's Xugana Island Lodge, a luxury safari lodge. Xugana Lagoon, which the resort overlooks, is widely regarded as the most stunning permanent water location in the whole Delta and guarantees water activities throughout the year. In Xugana's concession, you may go on motorboat safaris, mokoro (traditional canoe) safaris, and guided walking safaris. Fishing for bream and tiger fish may be found here, and the bird viewing is excellent.

Days 4 -7: Explore the Moremi Game Reserve | 2 Nights

BOTSWANA; OKAVANGO DELTA; MOREMI GAME RESERVE After a hearty breakfast at Xugana, you'll board a short flight to Camp Moremi in the Moremi Game Reserve. One of the most beautiful and satisfying wildlife sanctuaries in Africa may be found at the point where the life-giving waters of the Okavango Delta meet the vast Kalahari dunes. This area is home to mopane forests, open grasslands, seasonal floodplains, and aquatic habitats. Morning and afternoon wildlife drives will take place with knowledgeable naturalist guides from Camp Moremi, located on the border of the permanent Xakanaxa Lagoon. The game viewing is, of course, phenomenal, and the bird watching is good any time of year (especially a speedboat trip to the Gadikwe heronry). The area is well-known for its abundance of large mammals like elephants, buffalo, and antelope, as well as predators like lions, leopards, and even wild dogs. In Xugana's concession, you may go on motorboat safaris, mokoro (traditional canoe) safaris, and guided walking safaris. Fishing for bream and tiger fish may be found here, and the bird viewing is excellent.

Day 7 - 9: Savute Adventure | 2 Nights

National Park of Chobe in Botswana After breakfast, you may catch a flight to the north to visit Chobe National Park's Savute area and the Savute Safari Lodge, where you can gaze out from the shade of old camelthorn trees onto the banks of the Savute Channel. There are a lot of elephants in this region, both resident bulls and breeding herds that migrate through. The big lion prides and spotted hyena clans of Savute are well-known for their frequent fights over prey. Large predators found here include cheetahs, leopards, wild dogs, and jackals. During the green summer months (roughly December to April), thousands of zebra visit Savute on their way to the grazing fields of the remote Mababe Depression in the south, and return around February on their way home to the Linyanti wetlands, making for excellent game viewing all year round (tsessebe, wildebeest, giraffe, impala, buffalo). The rains also bring thousands of migratory birds, increasing Savute's bird species count to 300 and making it an excellent location for birdwatchers.
