per person

Overview

This 7-day trip is part of our Trips with a Purpose programme, and it takes you through Zambia’s famed South Luangwa National Park while actively participating in community initiatives. For each trip booked, you will also receive a conservation keychain and the knowledge that a portion of your travel funds will be utilised to positively influence people and animals.

This wild and unspoiled safari site is well-known for being the origin of the famed walking safari, as well as a spot teeming with animals. The park, which is regarded as one of the top wildlife sanctuaries in the world, is home to some of Africa’s most concentrated concentrations of species, due to the Luangwa River and its oxbow lagoons. Walking safaris and game drives in this area will let you to witness lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, zebras, vervet monkeys, baboons, spotted hyenas, giraffes, and wildebeest.

The legendary walking safari is a must-do while visiting the vast South Luangwa. Immersing yourself in the untamed African wilderness and exploring the bush on foot is an amazing trip that allows you to get up close and personal with nature and the creatures that call it home. From watching wildlife graze to sipping from the Luangwa River and admiring the Chindeni Hills, to discovering the smallest aspects of your surroundings.

Why Is This a Trip with a Purpose?

The Bushcamp Company is dedicated to the animals and people of the South Luangwa. They collaborate closely with the growing local population and conservation groups to create programmes that help protect valuable resources, boost education, and offer a sustainable source of income for those who live in the Park’s vicinity. This involves collaborating with Conservation South Luangwa (CSL) to safeguard and save South Luangwa’s wildlife and natural resources. The ‘Commit to Clean Water’ initiative drills fresh-water boreholes for the Mfuwe community, while the ‘Meal-a-Day’ programme serves lunch to 2,500 children every day.

In South Luangwa, you will be able to see local community projects like as a key water project, school upliftment projects, and hear about conservation activities at the NGO Conservation South Luangwa.
