Overview

This amazing Trip with a Purpose visits world-famous wildlife areas in Kenya, one of Africa’s best safari destinations. For good reason, Amboseli and Masai Mara are two of Kenya’s most frequented parks. Each camp is on a private conservancy, which is the greatest way to avoid crowds and enjoy unspoiled vistas from the comfort of classic safari camps.

Begin your trip in the heart of Nairobi National Park to ease into it. Relax after a long trip by taking in the stunning scenery at your first destination, Nairobi Tented Camp. You may go on leisurely wildlife drives, nature walks, and excursions into Nairobi from here. After getting a taste of safari in Nairobi, head south to Amboseli National Park for spectacular wildlife watching and iconic vistas of Mount Kilimanjaro. Finish your Kenya tour in the world-famous Masai Mara. Fly silently over the grasslands in a hot-air balloon basket, follow its footprints through herds of wildebeest and zebra, and trace paths on foot accompanied by Maasai guides.

This journey is ideal for anybody who has ever watched a National Geographic programme featuring dramatic and sad views of Africa’s famed animals, or who has felt compelled to visit the reserves described so compellingly by the beloved Sir David Attenborough.

What Is the Purpose of This Trip?

Visit three renowned Kenyan parks while staying at real eco-friendly camps that help to preserve Africa’s landscapes and the indigenous populations that live in them.

Visit the Amboseli Elephant Research Project, which is home to the world’s longest elephant research. Selenkay Conservancy, located in Amboseli, is a forerunner in the communal conservancy model, having proven enormously effective in employment development and animal conservation throughout Kenya.

During your time in Nairobi, you may learn about conservation initiatives, notably those involving the endangered Rothschild Giraffe, by visiting the Nairobi Elephant Orphanage and Giraffe Centre.

Other Positive Impact initiatives include: visiting an Education for Conservation project in Kishermoruak Primary School; and visiting the Wildlife Tourism College of Masai Mara, a vital wildlife tourism training institution for the Maasai.

Day 1:-2: A Safari on the City's Doorstep | 2 Nights

NAIROBI, KENYA Meet your driver at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your journey to your first location, Nairobi Tented Camp in Nairobi National Park. You'll be on safari and surrounded by wildlife within a couple of hours of touching down in Kenya's capital, which is conveniently located on the city's doorstep. Because of the park's proximity to the city, you have the unique opportunity to spend some time visiting Nairobi. This vibrant city has a lot to offer, including the Giraffe Centre, marketplaces, the Karen Blixen Museum, and a highlight: the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust's elephant orphanage. Vulnerable orphaned elephant calves are given a second shot at life and can look forward to being reintroduced into the wild in the future. Rather from concluding the day in a city hotel, return to the reserve for a leisurely wildlife drive, a relaxing sundowner, and a superb meal of regional cuisine. Because you are the only lodge in the park, it may feel as if the blanket of stars that unfolds is just for you.

Day 3-5: Amboseli's Iconic Views | 3 Nights

AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK, KENYA A short drive will transport you to the regional Wilson Airport, where a chartered aeroplane will be waiting to take you south to Selenkay Conservancy in the beautiful Amboseli National Park. When you arrive at the airstrip, your driver and guide will welcome you, and your first game drive will begin on your road journey to Porini Amboseli Camp. Porini's private location provides the freedom of a private concession while still providing easy access to the national park. Activities on offer mix renowned Amboseli vistas with excursions away from the throng for the greatest game viewing experience imaginable. Aside from big cat species, enormous herds of elephant, and other plains wildlife, unique fauna such as the long-necked gerenuk gazelle, African wildcat, and lesser kudu can be seen. The Amboseli area is also home to over 420 bird species, including six types of vulture—a birdwatcher's paradise. The panorama of Africa's tallest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro, is undoubtedly its most iconic feature. Tastefully built tents retain the elegance of old mobile safari camps while providing modern comforts for a comfortable stay. When not on one of the exhilarating game drives or walking safaris guided by Maasai rangers, Porini Mara Camp provides a calm base from which to relax and take in the panoramic views. Before settling in for a great supper and stories by the fire, have a delightful sundowner as the horizon changes from peachy colours to dark blues.

Day 6-8: Experience Masai Mara | 3 Nights

MASAI MARA, KENYA Mount Kilimanjaro waves goodbye as you board your charter flight via Wilson Airport to your next renowned safari location, the Masai Mara. When you arrive to Porini Mara Camp, take a time to relax into your tent and explore the surrounding nature that will be your home for the next three days. The big, traditional canvas tents, raised on wooden decks and shaded by acacia trees, are the ideal area to relax and enjoy an armchair safari. Porini is located in the game-rich Ol Kinyei Conservancy, which borders both the Masai Mara National Reserve and the nearby Naboisho Conservancy. It is close to the action while remaining conveniently within a private concession for maximum freedom. This gives tourists with a vast wilderness to explore on both day and night game excursions. If you visit in October or November, you may be able to watch the Great Wildebeest Migration. Endless herds of wildebeest and zebra travel through the reserve on their cyclical trek across the Mara and Tanzania's Serengeti, making it one of the world's natural wonders and an amazing spectacle. A hot-air balloon safari is not to be missed and is accessible all year. You may glide serenely above the Mara and watch as day breaks over its boundless plains.
