Chobe and the Delta in Botswana
Overview
Chief’s Island in the Mombo concession of the Moremi Game Reserve is the largest of the numerous islands dotted along the winding waterways of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. The ‘chief’ in issue was Moremi, who a century or more ago presided over this prey-rich region of the Delta. The tour will conclude after seven days in Botswana at his historic home base.
Chobe National Park, where you may spot elephants on a 9-seater game drive vehicle or on a boat excursion along the Chobe River, is the first stop on your trip. A trip to Chobe is not complete without witnessing a matriarchal herd crossing the lake and covering themselves in mud.
You’ll spend the middle of your trip in Moremi, a verdant wildlife paradise where you’re likely to see leopards, lions, and hyenas. If you just have a short amount of time to visit Botswana but still want to explore the country’s top attractions, this is the tour for you. Depending on your other commitments, you can start and conclude this journey in either Kasane or Maun.
